In the words of Dr. Vijay Tiwari - Founder, Daya Sumitra Educational Society, Inc.
DSES Inc. was established to provide support to those who are in need.
There are three pillars of DSES Inc.
EDUCATION
My belief is - "Basic Education is one’s birth right.” However, this is not the truth in many parts of the world. I would like to make basic education available across the globe. The only way to make the world a safe, better and a liveable place for our children is by giving them proper education.
Like a famous proverb: “A thousand-mile journey starts with a single step”.
I consider the single first step of education is to start with basic education at the grassroots level. My belief is “A small child should not be looking for the right aid and assistance - it is the grown-ups who should be looking out for small children who need aid, and make that assistance available.”
DSES Inc. is committed to provide the funds, resources as well as opportunities for basic education to those who are in need and can’t afford it.
DSES Inc. supports education of children of underserved areas through institutions like the DSET Public School, Ballia.
HEALTH
A healthy society is a prerequisite for focused education.
The World Health Organization defines health as: “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being - and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
Physical well-being is one’s own responsibility. Mental well-being is affected by our own practices. Social well-being is OUR collective responsibility. Each and every person on this globe can make significant changes in their own self - which in turn can lead to significant changes in the society.
DSES Inc. is committed to provide the funds, resources as well as services to keep the remote, underserved populations healthy and in turn, to keep society healthy.
DSES Inc. supports free medical camps for adults (3 times a year) and free medical check ups for school children, once a year.
DSES Inc. also sponsors 100 eye surgeries every year, at no cost to the patients.
SOCIO-ECONOMIC CARE
Society starts with us.
The golden rule - “One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.” - is very appropriate.
It takes a village to raise a child. I believe that the whole world is one - also known as the principle of "वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम" in ancient Indian spiritualism - we all belong to one family. It is the responsibility of each one of us to take every opportunity to help those who are in need.
DSES Inc. supports by providing funds, resources and other consulting services to those who want to start small businesses, especially as part of the cottage industry - and are unable to afford it. The support provided is applicable to initiatives across the globe.
